About Me
Welcome to my kitchen!
For as long as I can remember, I've always loved being in the kitchen. On Saturday mornings, I'd help my mom whip up homemade chocolate chip pancakes, Belgian waffles, or French Toast. Every holiday season, the week before Christmas, we'd turn up the holiday music and bake cookies and fudge the whole day. But one thing was always stopping me from being able to enjoy any dish my mom made - my peanut allergy.

When it came time for my mom to make the nut roll or Hershey Kiss cookies, I'd wash my hands and sit in the dining room, watching her knead the dough and wonder why my body couldn't be normal. I used to be really embarrassed by my peanut allergy. I mean, when you actually research it, essentially my body is afraid of the chemicals from peanuts and sends me into an anaphylaxis reaction. I've had it since I was born, but what I didn't know was not only couldn't I enjoy peanuts or peanut butter, but every type of tree nut was also out of the picture.

Because of my life-long peanut allergy, I'd have to find substitute for recipes that called for any kind of nuts, which is easier said than done. I looked high and low for nut free recipes and blogs, and when I couldn't find any with food I like, I decided to make my own. I can promise that every recipe I share will be free of peanuts, peanut butter, almonds, coconut, macadamia nuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios, and hazelnut. Feel free to give them a try!
