5/5 STARS ~ THE ENFORCER BY AVERY KEELAN
I was captivated by Nash Richards from the first chapter. He has the mystery (and grumpiness) that I love in a hockey player, but boy is he much deeper than that! We meet Nash and Violet as freshmen before we're launched two years forward to their senior year of college. That's really all I can say without giving away the story of how they're forced, yes forced, back together. I read the whole book in one day it was that good!
Avery Keelan knows how to hook you in from the beginning and keep you guessing throughout the story. I thought this would be similar to Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus series and in some ways yes, but in other ways not at all. Nash is a much more complex character then what meets the eye. His character growth happens throughout the story and without spoiling anything, let's just say the hockey community could learn a thing or two from it.
If you like slow-burns, a little bit of BDSM, and a second chance at love, then this is the book for you! Keelan combines the three in a mesmerizing way that keeps you engaged throughout the forty-five chapters.
Nash and Violet will steal your heart and make you question if you should give your ex a second shot (spoiler, you probably shouldn't unless he's Nash Richards). The drama, the humor, and the spice will keep you on edge and maybe a little flustered throughout their journey. Violet is the girl we all were in college, striving for good grades and a great job after graduation, while Nash is the bad boy of our dreams.
A big congratulations to Avery on publishing the first book in the LSU series. After getting to meet Vaugh, Drew, and Connor, I'm excited to read the rest of the series and see where their stories go! As always, her stories pack a punch of real life and give us the happy ever after we all long to have. The Enforcer is available for pre-order now and will be released on June 23, 2022. Run, don't walk to order this book!
Avery, thank you so much for ARC and opportunity to review. I've been a big fan since discovering Offside and have loved getting to know the Carter-James family and friends (hint: there's one in The Enforcer!)
